Who We Are

We at Match Fit firmly believe that what makes us different is - We are a leading local sports company specialising in Sport Specific Fitness Testing and Functional Movement Assessment.

Since 2006, we've been delivering high quality service to sportspeople in the Co. Meath area and beyond, building a reputation for excellence, quality results and value for money. 

 “If you don’t test, then it’s just a guess” As more and more players and teams rely on gaining that slight edge ahead of their opponents, it is important therefore that both teams and players are able to access a profile and development template in order to inform their training and practice sessions. In order for your team and players to reach their goals for the season they need to ensure they are best prepared to meet the demands of the season so as to overtake their opponents and achieve the required results.  Match-Fit ® strive to improve every player we work with from the point of view of helping them achieve their full physical potential in terms of meeting the specific demands of their chosen sport. We adopt a player-centred approach and strive to work in partnership with the player and team management in order to achieve their goals. There are three distinct phases on which we focus:

1.   Functional Competence: Given that every chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link, it follows true that the human body is only as strong as it’s weaknesses and is in turn hampered from achieiving peak performance by these. In terms of the field of play, our weaknesses can have just as big an influence as our strengths. In short, for every weakness there is a tightness and for every tightness there is a weakness.

2.   Movement Skills: The best players in any field game are invariably those who display the best movement skills and who can access a broad menu of the same; allied of course to their talent for the sport. The main focus of this module is to concentrate on allowing the player to move efficiently in order that their movement on the field becomes more effortless and less predictable.  

3.   Sport Specific Skill:
Here we focus on bringing newly developed strength, flexibility and movement skills to life on the field of play in a manner specific to the demands of your game; both from a physical fitness approach and a skill development  view-point. At all times we need to be very mindful of the fact that the tests/assessments form a base from which to work and help create individual player profiles, rather than being a sole focus and end in themselves.
